Charalampos Vlachos was born in Corfu in 1988, where he took his first musiclessons with George Reggis in Corfu Philharmonic Kapodistrias. He is a graduate of the Music High School of Corfu.He obtained his Saxophone Diploma from the conservatory “Orfeio of Athens” and was tutored by professor E. Kiosoglou with the grade “Excellent & 1st Prize”. He has diplomas in Special Harmony, Counterpoint, Instrumentationof Wind Instruments andFugue withthe grade “Excellent” from the conservatory “F. Nakas” with professor E.Kokkoris.
In 2009 he was awarded the 1stPrize in the 1st National Saxophone Competition of the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. He was also awarded the 1stPrize in the Classical Music Competition that was organized by the European University Of Cyprus, where he earned a student scholarship.
In 2012 he earned his Master’s degree (MMus) in Classical Music, Saxophone atArtEz Conservatorium Enschede, Netherlands underthe guidance of professorJohan van der Linden. He has also attended numerous master classes with distinguished saxophone professors such as Jean-Marie Londeix,ArnoBornkamp,Claude Delangle, Mario Marzi, Hans de Jong, Marco Albonetti, Rob Buckland και John Sampen.
Charalampos has appeared inmany concerts aroundthe Netherlands with the AHSO – ArtEZ/HKU Saxophone Orchestra and NJFO – Nationaal Jeugd Fanfare Orkest.
As a soloist he has appeared withthe Athens Symphony Youth Orchestra. Moreover, he has been collaborating withGreece’s greatest orchestras such as the AthensState Orchestra,the Greek National Orchestra of Radio – Television“ERT”, as wellas the Symphony Orchestra of the National Opera.
He has collaborated with composers such as George Hatzipieris and CostasParisiadis, making recordings and CD productions. Furthermore he has participatedin the recording of the ballet “La création du Monde” by Darius Milhaud with the Athens State Orchestra, the Fluxum Foundation & Flux Laboratory and the Greek National School of Dance.
Since 2014 he conducts the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Filothei – Psychiko. He is a professor of Woodwind Instruments at the Municipal Philharmonic of Rafina– Pikermi and Municipal ofPhilharmonic of Chios.
