Spyridon Faroungias was born in Corfu in 1970. He started music at the Mantzaros Philharmonic Society with Georgios Kourkoulos, Christos Routsis and Othonas Gkogkas. He completed his studies at the Raimondis Conservatory with Ioannis Elefantis. He holds degrees in Harmony and Conducting and Arranging wind instruments.
He has appeared as a soloist with various Greek Symphony orchestras, the Brass Ensemble of the State Orchestra of Athens, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, etc. He was member of the Youth Mediterranean Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Greek Radio and Television, the Color Orchestra, as well as Melos Brass Quintet (1996-2014), with numerous concerts in Greece, Europe, USA and Japan.
He teaches at the Corfu Conservatory.
Since 1993 he is principal trombone in the orchestra of Greek National Opera
