Marios Mouzakitis was born in Corfu, in 1984 and at the age of eight took his first music courses at Philharmonic Society of Corfu.
He was the Principal Timpani Player of Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2018-2019 season (September 2018 – July 2019), giving concerts in great halls around the world such as Moscow Conservatory, Strathmore Music Center, Mariinsky Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Kimmel Center of the Performing Arts, Grand Hall Zaryadye, Svetlanov Hall Moscow International House of Music and in the China, giving concerts in Halls such as The Grant Theater Shanghai, Great Hall of the People Beijing, Mudanjiang Grand Theater, Dalian Concert Hall etc.
He is a graduate (A with honours and 1rst prize) in percussion performance from Atheneum Conservatory (class of Dimitris Desyllas), and has a diploma in Harmony, Orchestration and Wind Band Conducting. As a member of percussion ensemble TYPANA (founded in 2004), he has performed in Athens Concert Hall, Athens Festival, The Olympic Games (2004), Armenia Chamber Orchestra, the Ballets of Zurich Opera etc. In 2008 he won the 2nd Prize of the 18th International Chamber Music Contest of Thessaloniki Helexpo.
He has participated in percussion masterclasses by Stefan Fougeroux, Peter Sadlo, Dimitris Desyllas, Wieland Welzel, J.B. Leclere and Rainer Seengers. He was a member of the Greek – Turkish Youth Orchestra in 2008 and 2009 (conductor: Vladimir Ashkenazy) and the Greek Youth Symphony Orchestra (conductor: Dionysis Grammenos) in 2017.
In 2009, he participated in the National Competition of Timpani and Percussion «Young Artists» and gained the second prize. He was a scholar of the Onassis Foundation (2010-2012) and did Master courses in Berlin with Professor Wieland Welzel (solo timpani player of Berliner Philharmoniker).
As a soloist, he has performed in concerts of the Wind Band and Orchestra of Philharmonic Society of Corfu, Thessaloniki State Orchestra, Orpheus Clarinet Choir and numerous recitals.
He has participated in many concerts of Greek Radio Orchestra ERT, Orchestra ton Chromaton, Camerata Orchestra, the brass ensemble Melos Brass, Athens 1 State Orchestra, Athens City Orchestra, Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, the Union of Greek Composers, SWR Radio Orchestra of Germany, Patras Orchestra, the percussion ensemble Seistron, the brass ensemble Metallon and the Wind Ensemble Ventus Ensemble.
He was lecturer of seminars in Corfu Summer Academy and Ionio University, Lefkada Music High School, Malta Youth Orchestra and Chios Philharmonic Music Akademy.
He is a member of the Wind Band and Orchestra of Philharmonic Society of Corfu and percussion tutor (2010-2023), Professor of Percussion in Ionian Conservatory(2010-2023), Philharmonic Society of Mantzaros (2013-2023) and member of Ventus Ensemble.
Since October 2023, he has the position of Principal Timpani of Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Lecture of percussion in University of Malta.
