Chrisa Grenda was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. At the age of 5, she took her first piano lessons. After obtaining her piano diploma (first prize for her diploma recital) she continued her studies at the Music Academy “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin. She also studied music theory, harmony and composition. She has participated in several master classes of outstanding piano teachers. In 1996 she won the 2nd prize for her performance in contemporary music at the “Hanns Eisler” competition in Berlin.
As a composer she has participated with her own compositions in concerts at the Athens Concert Hall and the State Opera in Berlin. Having a special interest in chamber music she has collaborated with many well-known musicians and has performed in Greece and other European countries (Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Sweden) at very important venues as: Cite de la musique Paris, Barbican Center London, Sage Gateshead Newcastle, Town Hall Birmingham.
From 2007 to 2011 she teached the piano at the Music Department of the Macedonia University in Thessaloniki. She was also piano assistant at the Summer Music Academy in Corfu, Spetses and Chios and at “Ticino Musica” festival in Switzerland. She worked also as correpetitor / vocal coach at the Lefkas Music Week.
She is a graduate of German language and literature.
