Born in Athens, he came in touch with music even before he could walk or speak. While growing up in a musicians family and after trying many different instruments, he fell in love with the sound and the versatile character of the clarinet. After a few years playing the clarinet and maturing as a musician (cello studies, advanced music theory and orchestration studies, saxophone, piano etc) he started studying under Stathis Kiosoglou, with whom he got his diploma with excellence in 2005 at Nakas Conservatory. After that he got to study with Ronald van Spaendonck, Stanley Drucker, Claude Faucomprez and many other teachers and friends. But through his love and devotion to the bass clarinet was how he got to know Armand Angster, who guided him through the intriguing maze of keys of this magnificent instrument. Through the years he has been a member of the Athens Symphonic Youth Orchestra, the Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the Athens Municipal Winds Band, the Kids Opera Orchestra and the Orchestra for Contemporary Opera of the Greek National Opera and many more. He has given many recitals and has collaborated with contemporary music ensembles such as Artefacts, Ergon Ensemble, TETTTIX and many more. He has worked with greek composers in expanding the repertoire for both the clarinet and the bass clarinet. Since 2013 he is a permanent member of the Greek National Opera as a subprincipal clarinet and principal bass clarinet. For the past 25 years he helps young clarinetists love music through this extraordinary instrument.
