ANGELOS KRITIKOS

TROMBONE

Angelos Kritikos (b. 1987, Corfu) is Principal Trombone of the Bamberg Symphony, a position he has held since 2009. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover with Prof. Jonas Bylund, after completing his initial training at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens.

He is a prizewinner of major international competitions, including First Prize at the Aeolus International Competition and the International Brass Competition in Gdańsk. As a soloist and orchestral musician, he has performed with leading ensembles such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.

Kritikos is a member of Trombone Unit Hannover and is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. In 2016, he served as Acting Professor at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen.
